A recent survey of food companies by software solutions provider Aptean reveals supply chain resilience will be the top priority in 2024, with a focus on strengthening networks. Some organizations reported higher revenue despite supply chain challenges, linking success to internal optimization of production scheduling and forecasting. Although many food processors, manufacturers, and distributors acknowledge using manual processes, interest in automation exists. About 4 in 10 companies agreed they want to use technology to optimize supply chain visibility, while roughly 1 in 3 want to increase quality checks.
